The Aranjuez Concierto, by Joaquim Rodrigo, is of course the most popular work, even if stage performance needs a delicate balance between the solo guitar and the full symphonic orchestra. JP Jumez has been invited by major orchestras to perform this celebrated masterpiece.
Institutions such as the Louisville Symphony Orchestra (dir. Jorge Mester), the Seoul Symphonic Orchestra (dir. Myung-Whun Chung) or the Durban Symphony Orchestra have invited JP Jumez to perform the Villa-Lobos Concerto, a spectacular virtuosity challenge for the soloist.
Jacques Castérède’s “Concerto for Guitar and Symphony Orchestra” (full version here 28’47”) was created by Jean-Pierre Jumez in France (excerpt here 3’20”).
